Invigorate & Rejuvenate
Our signature “Glide Flow” class will leave you feeling invigorated and rejuvenated. Designed as an all levels class, it is tailored to meet the needs of beginners new to yoga (plenty of modifications to keep you safe) and a strong flowing sequence to challenge more advanced yoga students.
Glide Flow is a strong and fluid yoga class, perfect for all abilities to enjoy opening the body and stilling the mind. Connecting breath to movement has a calming effect on the mind so that you will leave class feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. Glide Flow incorporates more challenging poses but as always modifications are offered to suit beginners.
Benefits include building strength, increased flexibility, a calming of the nervous system and greater self-awareness.
Glide Slow Flow
Mindful & Meditative
Train your mind with Glide Slow Flow, a mindful flowing yoga sequence that enables you to slow down, develop focus and be in the present moment. So much of our time is spent thinking about the past or future. A mindful Glide Slow Flow class with keep your attention anchored to your breath and present moment awareness. Kriya yoga techniques and pranayama (breathing exercises) are a key component of these classes.
Glide Slow Flow Yoga is a slower, more mindful yoga practice with some longer and deeper holds allowing you to strengthen and stretch the body and release tension and stress. A deeply satisfying practice, benefits include increased ability to focus, improved memory and reduced stress levels.
Sweat & Surrender
A Blissful Sweat
A vigorous class that begins with a challenging vinyasa flow packed with standing postures and core work to build tapas (heat) with the idea of burning away impurities and sweating off the week! As always, there will be an emphasis on the breath with pranayama and kriya practices included.
Class concludes with poses to soothe the nervous system and a seated meditation that will leave you feeling centred, peaceful and ready for a blissful savasana. Expect to sweat and then surrender to the power and peace of your true Self!
Beware, this blissed out state may stay with you all week!
Rest & Restore
Switch off your stress response and ignite the relaxation response with a restorative yoga class. Relax deeply with yogic breath work and be guided by ancient yoga meditations. This restorative yoga class will leave you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated with a deep sense of calm.
Restorative yoga is especially beneficial for anyone with anxiety, chronic fatigue, adrenal fatigue stress related illnesses, thyroid problems and insomnia. A weekly restorative class is highly recommended to help you experience greater peace, calm and joy in everyday living. If you have never tried restorative yoga before, you are in for a treat. Glide Restore is akin to having a massage or facial, you will literally Glide or float out of this class. No previous yoga experience is required.
Stretch & Release
A class with no planks, warriors or sun salutations! Yin yoga is practised sitting or lying down with long slow holds to target the fascia and connective tissue of the body. The results are increased flexibility and a stilling of the mind. The Yin aspect of yoga (using postures that stretch connective tissue) is vital for a balanced approach to physical health and well-being. Yin is the stable, unmoving, hidden aspect of things while Yang is the moving, changing, revealing aspect of things.
Yin Yoga is a more introspective practice that addresses the deeper, spiritual dimension of yoga with a focus on breath, meditation and the energy centres or chakras.
Yin yoga will peacefully and mindfully transform your body and mind. Research on creativity shows that we come up with our greatest insights and biggest break-throughs when we are in a more meditative state and a relaxed state of mind. That is often when we experience those ‘eureka’ moments. Yin yoga creates space in your body and mind to experience such moments.
