Join our Beginner Course so that you can learn the fundamentals of Yoga in a specialised class where everyone is new to Yoga. You will be guided by experienced teachers who give clear instructions and provide individual assistance and safe modifications that allow you to build confidence as you progress. The cost for the 3 week course is $90 and includes 4 beginner classes plus complimentary attendance at all classes for the course's duration. This provides an opportunity to immerse yourself in a regular yoga practice and try all of our classes, Glide Flow, Stretch & Restore, Back to Basics and Restore. Invigorate & Rejuvenate
Our signature 'Glide Flow' class will leave you feeling invigorated and rejuvenated. Designed as an all levels class, it is tailored to meet the needs of beginners (plenty of modifications to keep you safe) and a strong flowing sequence to challenge more advanced yoga students. Glide Flow is a strong and fluid yoga class, perfect for all abilities. Connecting breath to movement has a calming effect on the mind so that you will leave class feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. Glide Flow incorporates more challenging poses but as always modifications are offered to suit beginners. Benefits include building strength, increased flexibility, a calming of the nervous system and greater self-awareness.
Back to Basics
Strength & Stability
This class focuses on alignment and technique so that you learn and understand how to be safe in backbends, forward bends, standing poses and twists. Once you understand how to look after your body in class, you will feel more comfortable and confident in each pose. Often called Hatha Yoga or Iyengar Yoga, each pose is broken down to assist you in progressing to the next level and you will see and understand the more technical aspects of yoga. You will learn how to do the step through, how to crawl through into baby cobra, how to engage your core strength and much more.
As well as focusing on alignment, you will also increase your knowledge of anatomy and physiology. These classes are taught by experienced teacher, Annie Hesford who is passionate about yoga therapy and the need to individualise your practice so that you get strong, steady and stable, bringing an ease into your asana and your life. These classes are perfect for beginners.
Glide Stretch & Restore
Stretch & Release
A class that focuses on stretching and releasing the tightest parts of the body - hamstrings, quads, hips, backs and shoulders.
Stretch & Restore is perfect for althetes (cyclists, runners, footballers) and for anyone who spends a lot of time sitting in front of a computer.
Benefits include an increase in flexibility and range of movement through the joints of the body, a release of tension, reduced stress levels and a stilling of the mind. Class concludes with one or two restorative poses to take you into a deep state of relaxation and rejuvenation.
Rest & Rejuventate
Taking time out to relax and renew is essential to living well. Learn how to switch off your stress response and turn on the relaxation response with a restorative yoga class designed to calm the nervous system and leave you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated with a deep sense of calm.
A weekly restorative class is highly recommended to help you experience greater peace, calm and joy in everyday living. If you have never tried restorative yoga before, you are in for a treat. Glide Restore is like having a massage or facial, you will literally glide or float out of this class. No previous yoga experience is required.
Restorative yoga is therapeutic and especially beneficial for anyone with anxiety, chronic fatigue, adrenal fatigue, stress related illnesses, thyroid problems and insomnia. They are also beneficial for anyone living with cancer, heart disease, stress or any chronic or debilitating disease. You will learn how to increase your feeling of well-being, manage stress levels and cope with the often ardous treatments.
Yoga For Kids
Fun for Kids
The benefits of yoga for kids of all ages are limitless. Through imagination, story, sound, games and fun, the health benefits of yoga can be effectively experienced by any child. Glide Yoga’s classes for children are taught by Simone Van Vugt, who has completed a Yoga Australia accredited children’s yoga course. In these yoga classes, children learn the skills of mind-body awareness, inspiring self-confidence, focus, mindful reflection, self-regulation, creativity and self-efficacy while learning gratitude and optimism, all in a fun and safe environment. This is on top of the physical health benefits yoga provides children such as strength, balance and flexibility.
Glide Yoga classes for kids yoga are a holistic experience. Postures and movements that work specific areas of the body, breathing practices, relaxation and mindfulness have been proven to help children with their development and progression in life. Yoga can show and teach kids (and adults!) in a super fun way that anything is possible.
